BukSU Welcomes Over 7,000 Students for First Semester of 2024-2025

The academic year 2024-2025 at Bukidnon State University (BukSU) kicked off with a festive note as classes began on the main campus, accompanied by a week-long student orientation program from August 12 to 16.

As of August 12, the Office of the Registrar reported a total enrollment of 7,687 students for the first semester. This number includes 1,944 first-year students, 2,325 second-year students, 1,928 third-year students, and 1,490 fourth-year students.

Additionally, there are 586 students enrolled in master’s degree programs, 204 in doctoral degree programs, and 224 in the College of Law.

These figures are expected to increase as the Office of the Registrar finalizes enrollment for returning students and collects additional data from the 16 satellite campuses.

“Not everyone is given this opportunity to be given free higher education. You are the lucky few and you were carefully, meticulously selected,” said Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

“With the right to free higher education and the right to be educated comes responsibility. Your primary purpose here is to study—and not just to study, but to study excellently. Make sure that you finish your studies in four or five years,” Abejuela added.

The Supreme Student Council has organized a series of activities, starting with a campus parade and activity booths on the first day and culminating with an acquaintance party on August 16. (BukSU-Information Unit)
