DOST eyes BukSU as SETUP partner

The Department of Science and Technology-Bukidnon has considered Bukidnon State University as probable recipient of a set of equipment from its Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

The DOST-Bukidnon has requested BukSU to provide a storage space for a set of equipment, which is in transit from one client to the next while transfer procedure is in progress. 

Ms. Ritchie Mae L. Guino, DOST-Bukidnon officer-in-charge, said the equipment could be donated to the university if no client is qualified to assume its use within six months.

The set includes a liquid vertical form fill seal machine, cooker/mixer, and a planetary mixer.

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations-Extension Unit and the College of Technology (COT) has facilitated the undertaking in BukSU.

COT faculty has noted that if the equipment set will be donated to BukSU later, it can help the students and faculty in the Food Technology Department in the delivery of quality instruction.

The possible donation is also viewed to open possible opportunities on potential product innovations by the students, faculty, and the college’s extension stakeholders.
