BukSU, Malaybalay LGU team up to publish Local Disaster Resilience Studies

Five Disaster Risk and Resilience Management (DRRM) studies are moving toward publication after a two-day writing workshop focused on converting local disaster management data into evidence for policy and community applications.

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) and the City Government of Malaybalay conducted the workshop for Project ADOREE (Disaster Risk and Resilience Management Studies) on September 10–11, 2026, at Don Arc White Beach Resort in Initao, Misamis Oriental.

University researchers and local government unit (LGU) personnel used the workshop to refine the five DRRM studies for final publication and dissemination.

The sessions covered academic publishing requirements, including the selection of academic and professional outlets for the studies. Participants also reviewed the research through peer review and worked on the presentation of data and conclusions.

The workshop also covered the alignment of the local studies with requirements for national and international journals.

Project ADOREE has allocated financial and institutional support for the publication and conference presentation of all five studies at local and national levels.

The project organizers said the research process includes translating local experiences into peer-reviewed knowledge that can be used for community resilience, public safety and evidence-based governance.

The manuscripts are now nearing completion. BukSU and the City Government of Malaybalay are working on the publication and dissemination of the five research outputs, with their intended use in practical community applications related to disaster risk and resilience management.
