BukSU faculty earns national student affairs certification

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) has added a certified specialist in student affairs and services to its institutional capacity after Mr. Kent T. Onahon completed the Certificate in Student Affairs and Services Specialist Course (2nd Cohort).

The specialized program was offered by the University of Santo Tomas–Center for Continuing Professional Education and Development (UST-CCPED) in partnership with the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS).

The certification qualifies a Student Affairs and Services (SAS) specialist to lead and oversee non-academic student sectors, including student welfare services, student development services and institutional student programs.

Onahon is now designated as a Certified Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Specialist in the Philippines following his completion of the program.

Onahon credited the BukSU Administration for supporting his professional development through the University’s Faculty Development Program (FDP).

His certification adds a formally trained SAS specialist to the university’s personnel involved in student affairs and services and supports its practices in higher education administration. (BukSU – Information Unit with input by Kent T. Onahon, faculty, BukSU Lantapan Campus )
