
A consultative meeting was held with partner institution, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), on March 13, 2026, at the 4th Floor Conference Hall, Research and Extension Building, main campus, to explore partnerships in research, community engagement, and innovations.
UMY was led by Prof. Ir. Slamet Riyadi, Vice Rector for Quality, Reputation, and Partnership, and Dr. Idham Badruzaman, Head of International Mobility at the Directorate of Global Partnership and Employability (DGPE).
The university leaders were represented by Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations (VPREI) Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso, International Affairs and Linkages Unit (IALU) Director Dr. Rizza R. Consad, Quality Assurance Unit Director Dr. Iris April Ramirez, Planning Officer Archien Saraos, OVPREI directors and heads.
Riyadi’s presentation, “Integrated Quality Assurance Towards Global Reputation,” focused on strategic QA frameworks, internationalization, and innovation.
BukSU’s research profile, priority areas, ongoing initiatives, and opportunities for international research collaboration were presented by Dr. Joan M. Recente, Director of the Research and Development Unit (RDU).
According to RDU, the discussion centered on strategies to increase Scopus-indexed research publications, strengthen research citations, expand participation in international research presentations, and promote academic scholarship opportunities for BukSU faculty and students at UMY.
