Bukidnon State University (BukSU) secured the top award in the Learning and Education category at the Huddle, Analyze, Build, Innovate (HABI) 4.0 Finale, where BukSU’s Team Kinaiya outperformed 12 other finalists during the April 28–29, 2026 event at Diamond Hotel Manila.
The national showcase focused on student-developed solutions aligned with Industry 4.0. BukSU’s entry addressed reading and literacy concerns cited in reports from EDCOM II, the Programme for International Student Assessment, and National Achievement Test (NAT) results.
The project was developed through coordination between the university’s College of Education and College of Technologies.
Team Kinaiya was composed of Carryle Redoble, a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English student, along with Bachelor of Information Technology students Erwin Lanzaderas and John Pruds Colot.
Faculty mentors Dr. Gem Aiah A. Bolivia-Blanco and Dr. Jovelin M. Lapates provided technical and academic guidance during the development and presentation of the proposal.
The HABI 4.0 competition was organized through a partnership between the National Economic and Development Authority and the National Innovation Council, which served as the primary sponsoring agencies. The organizers cited student-led innovation as part of efforts linked to national development priorities and technological readiness.
The result places BukSU among participating institutions advancing education-focused innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration. (Dr. Gem Aiah A. Bolivia-Blanco/ Faculty, College of Education)
