
Newly appointed president of Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology, Reynaldo E. Manuel Jr., CESO V, led a delegation to Bukidnon State University (BukSU) on April 21, 2026, for a courtesy visit and benchmarking activity focused on institutional practices and alumni engagement.
Manuel, a graduate of the BukSU College of Education (Batch 1992, Bachelor of Elementary Education), returned to his alma mater alongside key officials from NMSCST. The delegation included Ms. Kris Mae B. Lagang, Board Secretary III; Dr. Lovella Divinagracia, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mar John B. Dauyo, Assistant Vice President for Student Services; and Ms. Amythyest M. Talaba, Chief Administrative Officer.
Also part of the visit were Dr. Joel T. Aclao, Dean of the College of Education and ISO Focal Person; Ms. Marilou Gamas, Planning Officer; Mr. Steve Embang, Director for Research; and Mr. Milben A. Jumamil, Director of the General Services Office. Coordination support was provided by Mr. Romiel S. Valiente, Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff; Mr. Leonel Bayadaog, Executive Assistant; and the NMSCST Supreme Student Council President.
During the engagement, Manuel addressed university officials and staff, describing BukSU as the foundation of his professional development and referring to it as his “home.” He acknowledged the role of his former professors and conveyed interest in future collaboration with the university. Before his election as NMSCST’s 4th president in April, Manuel served as Schools Division Superintendent of Department of Education – Misamis Occidental. (Ms. Katrina Faith M.
