BukSU HM students to experience student internship in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

According to BukSU’s International Affairs and Linkages Unit, the international internship is an outcome of BukSU’s institutional partnership with Saigon Business School, emphasizing the university’s commitment to internationalization, industry collaboration, and experiential learning.

Fifteen (15) senior Hospitality Management (HM) students of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) are set to undertake their Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) at Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc, located in the Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam.

The international internship will run from February 13 to May 13, 2026, providing students with a comprehensive global learning experience in a premier hospitality environment.

According to BukSU’s International Affairs and Linkages Unit, the international internship is an outcome of BukSU’s institutional partnership with Saigon Business School, emphasizing the university’s commitment to internationalization, industry collaboration, and experiential learning.

“As part of this partnership, the participating students will undergo a two-week cultural immersion and basic language training program facilitated by Saigon Business School before full deployment to the host training establishment. This component is designed to enhance students’ cross-cultural awareness, communication skills, and adaptability within the Vietnamese work and community setting,” IALU added.

Implemented in accordance with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 10, Series of 2023, the SIAP is a CHED-regulated and institution-endorsed academic program that ensures student safety, academic rigor, and legal compliance. The student interns have completed all required orientations and documentary requirements covering academic preparation, immigration compliance, and risk management.

At Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc, the HM interns will be immersed in actual hospitality operations, allowing them to strengthen their technical competencies, professional work ethics, and intercultural communication skills in an international context.

“This initiative reaffirms BukSU’s commitment to developing globally competent graduates while translating international partnerships into meaningful, high-impact learning opportunities,” IALU shared. (Dr. Rozanne Tuesday Flores/ Chair, Student Mobility Program; SIAP Coordinator (IALU))
