Bukidnon State University (BukSU) students and faculty took part in the SDG Bayanihan Summit 2025 on December 6, 2025, at The Catalyst Coworking, Sampaloc, Manila to working on community-focused initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The summit aimed to strengthen youth participation in SDG programs, promote storytelling for social impact, and build collaboration among student leaders, organizations, and community partners working toward sustainable development.
BukSU was represented by Ma. Sheinah M. Salvo, College of Education – SBO Governor, Jhon Lester P. Ybañez, College of Technologies – SBO Governor, Amerah Abdusamad, College of Arts and Sciences – SSC Senator, Keevo Arn J. Delfin, College of Business – SSC Senator, and Louie Jay S. Labastida, IT Faculty.
The delegation joined the summit’s masterclass sessions, which covered diverse discussions such as public restrooms and clean water systems, the role of car-free Sundays in promoting sustainable public spaces, student governments and their impact on national politics, humanizing SDG data for better reporting, supply chain sustainability in the circular economy, and the call for safe spaces for Filipina athletes. These sessions provided practical ideas and broader insights that the BukSU delegates can apply in their campus initiatives and community engagements. (Gil Nicholas T.
