Bukidnon State University (BukSU) ranks 268th among 1,072 universities worldwide in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024, announced on June 7 at Franklin University in Switzerland.
WURI assesses higher education institutions’ real contributions to industry and society, highlighting innovative education, research, and engagement in society. Using 13 categories, it encompasses innovation targets and methods, offering a comprehensive measure of institutions’ creative contributions to societal advancement.
This is the first time BukSU submitted entries for WURI. Among the categories, BukSU ranked 31st in Crisis Management, 51st in Leadership, and 67 in Social Responsibility.
For Crisis Management, BukSU’s entries included its crisis management initiatives, an emergency response plan, smart infrastructure developments, and the establishment of the Botanical Gardens and Herbarium.
In the Leadership category, BukSU was recognized for its initiatives in teacher education development, the hexa-helix Smart University agenda, and the Brace-the-Link program.
For Social Responsibility, BukSU submitted programs such as the Pag-Ambitay Daw Ag Kaulian radio program and various sustainable environmental protection initiatives.
