College of Education Recognizes September 2023 LET Passers

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) celebrated the accomplishments of 53 graduates from the College of Education (COE) who successfully passed the September 2023 Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET) during the testimonial and recognition ceremony held at the Mini Theater on February 21, 2024.

In the recent LET, BukSU achieved a passing rate of 98.21% for the elementary level and 70.10% for the secondary level.

“Passing the LET is a strong manifestation of your outstanding intellect and determination and an indication of the excellent instruction we have provided in the institution. You have once again proven that hard work and perseverance, coupled with strong faith, can make anything possible,” said COE Dean Dr. Ann Sheila C. Del Rosario.

LET Top 8 Vivian C. Perocho, who received a cash prize of P30,000 from BukSU as a token for her achievement, brought her parents, grandparents, and siblings to the event.

“I’m a dreamer. I spent my entire childhood in a remote area without the comfort of electricity… The process involves sleepless nights and intense reading of review materials,” Perocho shared during her testimony.

“At the forefront of my gratitude are my parents, who have been the bedrock of my aspirations, steadfast in their belief that I could achieve my goals. To support my dreams, my parents toiled tirelessly in the fields, enduring the scorching heat of the sun and the biting cold of the rain,” she added.

[I salute you today; you did not fail your parents’ efforts to make each one of you a professional. Thank you very much, and I am proud of all of you. Pursue your dream].

COE Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) officer Ms. Adela Emborgo expressed her challenge to the passers by urging them to excel in their respective fields.

“My challenge to the passers is to be excellent in your fields because I know, we know from the Department of Education-Malaybalay, that BukSU Education graduates are the best teachers in town,” Emborgo said.

Meanwhile, Early Childhood Education Department head Mr. Hannah T. Castillon emphasized the significant role the passers now hold in shaping minds and influencing lives.

“Your collective expertise will contribute richly to Filipinos. I challenge you to recognize the unique impact that each of you can make within your respective fields. In your unique capacities, you hold the power to ignite curiosities, inspire passion, and cultivate skills necessary for your students’ success. Draw from the wealth of knowledge and skills acquired during the academic journey in BukSU. Strive for excellence with character,” Castillon said.

During the event, the newly elected PTA officers took the oath of office. (with the contribution of Ms. Genevibe C. Largo)
