MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University Research Based Folkloric Dance Troupe received a Meritorious Performance Award from The National Commission for Culture and Arts during the Recognition Night and Indak, Galaw, Sayaw live event at the Metropolitan Theater on June 27, 2023.
Dr. Lincoln V. Tan, Vice President for Culture, Arts, Sports, and Student Services, and concurrent Director of the Sports, Arts, and Cultural Development Unit, received the award on behalf of BukSU.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts- National Committee on Dance (2020-2022), led by Ms. Shirley Halili Cruz, initiated the said event. It served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the collective triumphs over the devastating impact of the pandemic.
This prestigious recognition acknowledged BukSU’s exceptional involvement in the continuous creation and performance of dance, which served as an inspiration and made a valuable contribution to the development of an innovative, resilient, and dynamic Philippine dance community. The evening was a celebration of dance and life, where attendees came together to express gratitude and find inspiration.
