MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University garnered five awards during the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Awards in celebration of its Founding Anniversary and 3rd National Higher Education Day held at the Apple Tree Resort in Opol, Misamis Oriental, Philippines on June 22, 2023.
Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan III, Director for Student Leadership and Management, received the awards in behalf of the University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol. The awards were presented by Dr. Freddie T. Bernal, CESO III.
In his speech, Dr. Dinlayan said that the awards received were a testament of the collective efforts of BukSU’s dedicated officials, faculty, staff, and students who have tirelessly worked towards excellence in education and quality services.
“This recognition carries the responsibility of setting the bar higher. It challenges us to reflect on our achievements, identify our areas for growth, and strive for even greater excellence – all of which were part of BukSU President Dr. Mirasol’s vision for a SMART BukSU- A Future-Ready University,” he said.
The awards given to BukSU include a Plaque of Recognition for being ranked as the Top Performing School Nationwide in the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Licensure Examinations for Nurses (Top 1) and for the excellence in instruction and training it concretized in having seven (7) graduates who are among the successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places in various Professional Licensure Examinations between April 2022 to May 2023.
BukSU Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office also received an Award of Commendation for their excellent efforts and for fulfilling the institution’s legal obligations as a State University.
Another award was given to BukSU for its conferment of an International Certification conforming to ISO 9001:2015, which contributed to the creation of a future-ready Filipino workforce and a more inclusive society.
BukSU also received the Award of Distinction for its conferment of the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) for Proficiency in Quality Management (Level II), which demonstrated excellence in quality management and overall organizational performance.
Finally, BukSU, headed by President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol received a Plaque of Commendation for its commitment to provide and implement student-centered activities and services beyond the requirement set forth by CHED Memorandum Order No. 9 s. 2013 “Enhanced Policies and Guidelines on Student Affairs and Services.” In behalf of BukSU, Dr. Dinlayan expressed his gratitude to CHED, headed by Dr. Freddie T.
