MSU-SULU commends BukSU’s Best Practices on Quality Assurance Accreditation

MALAYBALAY CITY – Mindanao State University- Sulu commended Bukidnon State University’s best practices on Quality Assurance Accreditation processes during the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Accreditation program held at the University Mini Theater on March 10, 2023.

“One thing that marks is the institutional convergence of a force of all those involved in the accreditation; BukSU have a very strong collaborative team,” Mr. Nagder J. Abdurahman, MSU-SULU Chancellor, said in response to BukSU’s Quality Assurance Accreditation processes presentations.

He added that BukSU’s teamwork was the key ingredient why it became a great University and why it reached its outstanding performance—”the quality and excellence that the Bukidnon State University has to offer.”

Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso – Dean, College of Nursing- Level III re-accredited status, Dr. Elle Christine D. Melendez, Bachelor of English Language Faculty – Level IV- reaccredited status, Dr. Regina B. Dumdumaya, Bachelor of Physical Education Chairperson- Level II- reaccredited status were among the speakers who shared their program’s best practices during the benchmarking activity.

They have presented their strategies and modifications on the academic curriculums, research and innovation, and ethics certification to succeed in such greater heights in achieving a locally and internationally accredited competent university.

Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said that BukSU is guided by 5 P’s:  Purpose, for we are purpose-driven; People, for we invest in people; Process – BukSU’s ways to surpass; Pain- for the hard work and motivation; and fifth was the need to go back to the ‘Purpose’ why we are here.

“Just commit to Quality Assurance and you would never go wrong,” she said.

In behalf of the University President, Mr. Dante S. Victoria Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, said in his message that in BukSU, Quality Assurance became a way of life and that through assessment and evaluation of the processes, the university continued to improve its services.

He also emphasized the mantra that the university lived by: “For continuous improvement, for the highest satisfaction of our stakeholders.”

Mr. Abdurahman expressed his gratitude and appreciation to BukSU for sharing their best practices. He said that they may be far from Bukidnon but Bukidnon was not far from their hearts.

“We have travelled 25 hours, crossed oceans and mountains just to be here in a very prestigious University, which excellence is heard from afar,” he added.
