MALAYBALAY CITY – The College of Arts and Sciences and College of Business are enjoined to participate in the 2023 1st Quarter Earthquake and Fire Emergency Drill, 9:00 a.m. on March 23, 2023.
The drill is in pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 7722 otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994,” and Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Reduction Risk and Management Act of 2010.”
Mr. Rhondell M. Paraiso, Head of BukSU’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit (DRRMU), with his core team members, will be spearheading the said drill.
All University officials, faculty, personnel, and students occupying the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Business are enjoined to participate.
This activity aims to test the efficiency and usefulness, response and recovery plans, systems and policies developed in above-mentioned colleges. It will provide a platform to evaluate the effectiveness of the colleges’ established contingency plan and to assess the coordination and communication mechanism during operations.
Ultimately, the emergency drill will establish the efficiency of the command-and-control mechanism during the emergency and disaster operations of the DRRMU Core Team Members. (OP-IPS)
