Ms Zubiri leads turnover of academic buildings in three satellite campuses

BUKIDNON – Ms Audrey Tan-Zubiri, Senate Spouses Foundation President, in behalf of her spouse Hon. Juan Miguel F. Zubiri, Senate President, led the turnover of academic buildings in three satellite campuses during the blessing and turn-over ceremony on January 24-25, 2023.

A three-storey academic building with nine classrooms were turned over to Kitaotao satellite campus headed by Campus In-Charge Dr. Wilfredo Martinez on January 24 and Kadingilan satellite campus headed by Campus In-Charge Dr. Jason B. Montecañas on January 25.

The Phase 1 of academic building, covered court, and two vehicles were also turned over to Damulog satellite campus, headed by Campus In-Charge Dr. Arnel V. Bangis.

Mrs. Audrey Tan-Zubiri said that education is very important to fight against poverty and this will give an opportunity to all youth in their future endeavours in life including their families and community.

This is one of Hon. Zubiri’s projects in the satellite campuses that treads another milestone in its quest to improved and provide access to excellent tertiary education.

The local government unit of Kitaotao under Mayor Edwin D. Abucayan and Vice Mayor Mary Ann G.  Angit, of Kadingilan under Mayor Jerry A. Canoy Jr., and of Damulog under Mayor Melino L. Buro and Vice Mayor Alberto Salmasan have been investing largely to improve the education system in their municipalities.

Aside from the financial assistance given to students, Mayor Abucayan, with the support of Vice Mayor Angit and all the local officials, also mentioned to give priority on his project of putting up a dormitory for those who are indigents and who came from distant areas.

Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations, in her closing remarks, said that with this additional facility, everyone would be fortunate and more motivated and inspired to provide access to deserving students to quality tertiary education.

“This can also promote economic productivity and innovation along the continued pursued of excellence in our four-fold function in the university,” she added.

Bukidnon State University, in the leadership of Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, Officer In-Charge/Office of the President, was grateful to the constant support of Hon. Miguel F. Zubiri in the conceptualization and establishment of satellite campuses.

The said project also mirrors the vision of Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez, former university President, on the programs and projects implemented during his second term for the period 2019-2022. Mr. Dante S.
