BukSU hosts NEMSU, USM benchmarking visits

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS/15 December 2021) – Bukidnon State University accommodated delegations of officials from two state universities this month, from Northeastern Mindanao State University and University of Southern Mindanao for their respective benchmarking visits.

The 27-member NEMSU delegation, led by the NEMSU Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Florife O. Urbiztondo, Director for Finance, Camilo D. Malong, Jr., and Director for IGP, Rizza Mae C. Azarcon, visited the BukSU Main campus on December 14, 2021 for a benchmarking visit focused on financial management operations and income generation.

The three NEMSU officials paid a courtesy call at the Office of the President before they proceeded to the program. Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, BukSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovations, officer-in-charge that day, attended to them on behalf of university president Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez.

BukSU organized a program held in Finance Building Mini Theater in response to the request of NEMSU to be guided as to the operation of BukSU’s Finance Administration Unit and Income Generating Projects.   

“Having known of the expertise that you have on these matters; we would like to request from your university to allow us to benchmark with onsite ocular visit in your respective offices…,” Mr. Camilo D. Malong, the NEMSU Director for Finance stated in the letter addressed to Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez.

During the program, the resource speakers, Ms. Wilma L. Gregory provided inputs on the Finance and Management Division Operations Manual together with Dr. Helen P. Garcia who presented the Services Offered by the Business Affairs Office. 

On December 1, 2021, a delegation from University of Southern Mindanao in coordination with USM Faculty Association also visited the main campus for a benchmarking to conduct experiential learning regarding the best practices in BukSU.

Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, President of USM Faculty Association Incorporated, stated in the letter addressed to Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez, that the purpose of their visit is for the improvement of their academic and administrative policies.  (Diana Rose B. Lagoy/OP IPS)
