BOR approves BukSU’s accomplishments, projects, programs

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS/04 October 2021) The Board of Regents (BOR), governing body of Bukidnon State University, approved the latest quarterly accomplishment report, proposed projects, and programs of the university in its 189th regular meeting last month.

BOR Chair and CHED Commissioner Perfecto A. Alibin presided over the meeting via Zoom Application on September 9, 2021. The BOR approved with commendation the University President’s Report, which is an accounting of the university’s accomplishments in the preceding quarter.

BOR Vice Chair and University President Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez, in his report, highlighted the preparations done by the university for the opening of classes for School Year 2021-2022. He also reported to the BOR the successful livestreaming of the 87th Commencement Exercises of the university, quality assurance activities of the university, research and extension endeavors, internationalization engagements, and highlights of the operations of the university in the third quarter.

The board approved three memoranda of agreement (MOA), including BukSU’s partnership deal with the Visayas Mindanao Consortium of Journal Publication Inc. (VMCJPI) for the hosting of the 2nd International Conference on Methodological Advances in Research.

BukSU recently collaborated with BINUS University and Universitas Sultan Agung of Indonesia, and Burapha University International College of Thailand in organizing a VIRTUAL MOBILITY PROGRAM titled “Student Exchange Program in Language and Social Behavior.” The event featured 15 BukSU students from various departments, as well as two faculty members as panelists.

The board also granted authority to procure for various infrastructure projects, goods and services for the main and satellite campuses. The BOR also approved the school calendar for SY 2021-2022 and the revised graduate school curriculum presented by university officials. The BOR also approved the linkages and partnerships between BukSU and external stakeholders as defined in respective memoranda of agreements.

Aside from Commissioner Alibin, other BOR members present during the meeting were DOST-10 Director Alfonso P. Alamban, NEDA-10 Director Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño, Alumni Regent Dr. Victor M. Barroso, Faculty Regent Mr. Ivan Heinrich A. Villanueva, Student Regent Supreme Student Council President Lawrence David S. Baylosis and private sector representatives Dr. Jocelyn K.
