History
The Bukidnon State University Kalilangan Campus began as an extension campus in the 1980s through the efforts of the local government. Initially holding classes at Kalilangan Central School (KCES), it produced graduates who found employment in and beyond the municipality. After a temporary closure in the 1990s, the campus reopened in 2005 under the leadership of local officials, offering Bachelor of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs. Over the years, the campus saw a rise in enrollment, the introduction of additional programs, and a growing reputation for producing competent graduates. With increasing support from local stakeholders and demand from the community, the campus transitioned into a satellite campus in 2018.
The establishment of BukSU Kalilangan Satellite Campus was made possible through partnerships with the local government, stakeholders, and Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri’s office, which provided financial and logistical support. The campus officially opened its new site in 2020 with a 1.3-hectare land donation from the LGU. It offers two programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Financial Management and Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA). Infrastructure projects, faculty development, and improved facilities have continued under the leadership of designated campus heads, contributing to the campus’s steady growth and success in providing quality tertiary education.
