History
Bukidnon State University Damulog Campus was established in 2018 as part of Bukidnon State University’s mission to develop competitive professionals through quality education, research, and community engagement. The campus initially offered two academic programs: the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management and the Bachelor of Public Administration. Both programs received their Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 2021 and 2022, respectively, ensuring the institution’s adherence to educational standards.
The establishment of the Damulog Campus was a result of the 1st Bukidnon Anti-Poverty Summit held in November 2016, led by Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri. The summit highlighted the urgent need to address Bukidnon’s high poverty incidence, which ranked among the highest in the country at 53.6% in 2015. Education was identified as a key intervention, prompting the expansion of Bukidnon State University’s reach through satellite campuses. The Damulog Campus was made possible through a land grant initiated by former Mayor Pacomeo S. Getigan and later formalized under Mayor Melino “Mel” Buro, with the support of the municipal council. Strategically located in Poblacion, Damulog, Bukidnon, the campus continues to serve students from Region 10, the SOCCSKSARGEN region, and other parts of Mindanao, solidifying its role as a vital educational institution in the region.
