Bukidnon State University honored employees and offices whose integrity, excellence, and contributions exemplify public service as it capped its month-long celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary on September 25, 2026.
Held under the theme “Pista sa Nayon,” the culmination highlighted the conferment of awards under the University’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE), anchored on the values of Puso, Dangal, at Galing.
According to HRMO III Dr. Janne Claudian Salvaña, the theme represented a community where everyone has a role to play, from those who lead and serve to those who create, support, and work quietly behind the scenes.
“Each contribution may be different, but together, they create a community that moves forward,” Dr. Salvaña said, noting that the same spirit reflects the essence of public service. He emphasized that Puso calls for compassion, Dangal for integrity and accountability, and Galing for the continuing pursuit of excellence.
Under Puso, the Gantimpala Agad Award recognized employees who demonstrated honesty and integrity by returning lost money, mobile phones, wallets, and other belongings. Demi Lorenz F. Jover of the Client Care Center, was also recognized for responsibly facilitating the return of lost items entrusted to the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk.
The University Gender Resource and Research Center (UGRRC), headed by Dr. Marichu B. Montecillo, received the same award for its exemplary implementation of workplace breastfeeding programs and lactation facilities, which contributed to BukSU’s First Place recognition in the 2026 Search for Best Lactation Station of the City of Malaybalay.
Under Dangal, the University recognized its Internal Quality Auditors and AACCUP Internal Accreditors for FY 2026 for their contributions to institutional quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
Galing recognized employees whose expertise, mentorship, and sustained work resulted in notable institutional achievements. Dr. Manuel Chad G. Agurob was honored for developing BukSU’s first patent registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. Faculty mentors and coaches were recognized for guiding student teams to regional, national and international distinctions. The Satellite Campuses Management Office (SCMO) was also cited for implementing skills training for administrative aide personnel, while Instructional Materials Coordinators and Content Specialists were recognized for their work in ensuring the quality and compliance of instructional materials.
University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol reminded employees that beyond the awards and activities, the celebration affirmed the community behind the University’s work.
“Beyond our offices, positions, and responsibilities, we are one BukSU family,” Mirasol said. She encouraged the workforce to return to their duties with renewed energy, stronger camaraderie, and a deeper sense of purpose, carrying with them the spirit of DASIG.
The culmination closed the month-long celebration with a recognition that every contribution forms part of BukSU’s collective work. As expressed in the program rationale, “every achievement is a shared achievement, every service matters, and every civil servant contributes something valuable to the larger community.”
