The Provincial Government of Bukidnon (PGB), led by Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque, and Bukidnon State University (BukSU) formalized their partnership for the Medical Scholarship Program of Bukidnon through a Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony held on September 7, 2026, at the PHRMO Training Center, Kaamulan Park, Malaybalay City.
The partnership provides scholarship support to five students from Batch Kadasig, the pioneering cohort of the BukSU College of Medicine composed of 32 students.
BukSU is the first higher education institution in the Province of Bukidnon to offer the Doctor of Medicine program, which was formally launched on 07 August 2026. The scholarship partnership further strengthens the University’s commitment to making medical education more accessible and developing future physicians who will serve the province and its communities.
“BukSU commits to do our share, not only in providing you with quality medical education, but also in guiding, mentoring, and preparing you to become the kind of physicians our communities need,” University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol said in her message to the scholars.
Joining Dr. Mirasol during the ceremony were Dr. Ruth S. Beltran, FPOGS, FPCS, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Kharla Laarni B. Dinsag, DFM, Chair of the College Committee on Admissions, Promotions, and Scholarship and Ms. Joanne Vivien B. Necosia, Director of the Presidential Management Staff.
Through this partnership, BukSU and the Provincial Government reaffirm their shared commitment to supporting aspiring medical professionals and strengthening the healthcare workforce of Bukidnon. (Joanne Vivien B. Necosia/ Director, Presidential Management Staff)
