Bukidnon State University (BukSU) opened Academic Year 2026–2027 with 9,317 registered students across its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Females comprise nearly 62% of the university’s student population, with 5,807 students, while 3,510 are male. The enrollment covers undergraduate and graduate programs across education, business, public administration, hospitality, health sciences, and technology.
The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) recorded the highest undergraduate enrollment with 602 students. It was followed by the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM) with 571 students and the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BS-HM) with 560.
Early Childhood Education (BECED) and Nursing (BSN) continued to have high female enrollment. Technology programs recorded higher male participation, including Information Technology (BSIT) with 330 males and 192 females, Automotive Technology (BSAT) with 210 males and 12 females, and Electronics Technology (BSET) with 187 males and 40 females.
For graduate studies, the Master of Arts in Education Major in Educational Administration had the highest enrollment with 403 students.
In addition to the main campus figures, BukSU’s satellite campuses reported a combined enrollment total of 7,231 students. Mirroring the main campus demographic pattern, satellite campuses recorded 4,525 female students compared to 2,706 male students.
The university opened the academic year through a three-day Week of Welcoming (WOW) at the main campus on August 3–5, 2026. The activity included hybrid academic orientations for freshmen, returnees, and continuing students. The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs led the sessions and discussed university policies, processes, and procedures.
According to the OVPAA, the orientations give students a refresher on university policies and provide updates on the priorities and processes of different offices.
The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovations said the WOW helps students prepare for campus life and gives them opportunities to participate, innovate, and collaborate. The Office of the Vice President for Culture, Arts, Sports, and Student Services also said the activity gives students guidance on academic expectations, student responsibilities, and opportunities for leadership, personal development, and holistic growth.
“Every student is given the chance to learn, lead, and thrive. [This week] we will inaugurate five smart learning spaces as university classrooms, our new university cafeteria, and BukSU EduHub lecture theater. This reflects our commitment to innovative, collaborative, and responsive to the needs of today’s learners,” said University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol.
“As we begin this academic journey, we must embody the core values of excellence, professionalism, integrity, commitment, and culture-sensitivity,” Mirasol added. (With information from Dr. Mariz Rochelle C. Sedon and the University Registrar)
