Preparations are in full swing as Bukidnon State University (BukSU), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and various Local Government Units (LGUs), officially launched a comprehensive Capability Building (CapBuild) Program for the implementation of the Tara, Basa! 2026 initiative.
Held from April 8 to 12, 2026, at the BukSU Auditorium and Audio Visual Center, the five-day training program aims to equip newly selected student tutors and youth development workers (YDWs) with the competencies needed for the upcoming rollout of the project.
A parallel training session was also conducted at the BukSU Libona Satellite Campus to accommodate participants from LGU Libona, ensuring wider reach and accessibility for all involved stakeholders.
The training gathered a diverse pool of student-volunteers from the College of Education, as well as specialized academic programs in Community Development, Development Communication, Sociology, and Philosophy.
This multidisciplinary participation highlights BukSU’s commitment to collaborative and community-responsive service. The intensive curriculum covered a broad range of professional and ethical standards essential to program implementation, including Child Protection and Safe Spaces, Sensitivity Training, and Operational Integrity Sessions.
LGU representatives who attended the sessions expressed their full support for the initiative, emphasizing that the success of the 20-day implementation period depends on the strong synergy between the academe and local government partners.
