BukSU reaps awards at a regional conference on advancing sustainable health solutions

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) proved its strength in research and innovation as faculty researchers and students achieved multiple recognitions during the 8th Regional Health Research Conference organized by the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Health Research and Development (NorMinCoHRD), held on October 7–9, 2025, at Misamis University, Ozamiz City.

With the theme “Sustainable Health Solutions for a Greener Future: Bridging Health and Environmental Well-Being,” the annual conference invited faculty members and students across Northern Mindanao to share their completed health-related studies, engage in scientific discussions, and present innovative solutions that connect human health with environmental sustainability.

The three-day event featured competitions such as the Three-Minute Pitch to Policymakers, Oral Research Paper Presentation, and Research Poster Contest.

Atty. Ophelia Pilar Rubio-Zamora, Dean of the College of Law, secured Third Place in the prestigious 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers;

Dr. Lharra Mae C. Postrano, faculty member of the College of Nursing, earned the Best Presenter Award in the Oral Research Presentation (Professional Category);

Mr. Raul D. Lecaros, faculty member of the College of Technologies, won the People’s Choice Award in the Research Poster Contest (Professional Category); and

Mr. Joshua T. Peligriño, BS Biology student, was recognized as Best Presenter in the Oral Research Presentation (Undergraduate Category).
