
Bukidnon State University took part in the 2025 Midterm Convention and General Assembly of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), held from July 9 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Representing the university were Mr. Dante S. Victoria Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, and Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan III, Director of the Student Leadership and Development Unit.
With the theme “Forging the Future: Empowering SUCs through Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence,” the convention brought together SUC leaders nationwide to engage in collaborative discussions on innovation, institutional strengthening, and sector-wide development.
One of the highlights of the convention was the keynote address by CHED Chairperson Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis, who presented “Trends and the Future of Philippine Higher Education.” She also led an executive session with SUC leaders to discuss current concerns and gather policy recommendations from the sector. Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Hon. Amenah F. Pangandaman delivered a talk on emphasizing strategic investments in SUCs as well as updates on the SUC Revised Organizational Structure and Staffing Standards (ROSSS) Phase II. Dr. Karol Mark R. Yee, Executive Director of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), presented insights on the challenges and future directions of the country’s free higher education policy.
