Bukidnon State University (BukSU) joins the 5th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Annual Conference, a global gathering of academic institutions committed to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in higher education, on July 9-10, 2025, at Silliman University (SU) in Dumaguete City.
The conference brings together universities and partner organizations from around the world to share insights and foster international partnerships most specifically on innovations.
Representing BukSU in the event are Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, University President; Mr. Joseph L. Gelacio, Program Chair for Global Excellence; Ms. Juliecriz B. Mallari, Executive Assistant III; and Ms. Astred Jill A. Catolpos, Head of the Presidential Technical Operations.

During their visit, the BukSU delegation will also conduct benchmarking activities at SU, focusing on its Global Studies Center, Library systems, Student Ambassadors Program, and strategies for improving global rankings, whose efforts are aligned with BukSU’s vision of becoming a globally engaged university.
Highlighting BukSU’s active participation, Dr. Joy M. Mirasol will serve as a parallel session speaker on Day 2 of the conference, presenting on “Empowerment-Based Management”, a leadership approach that champions collaboration, innovation, and institutional transformation.
