As part of Bukidnon State University’s commitment to environmental compliance and sustainability, a Workshop on Hazardous Waste Profiling and Compliance Requirements was held on March 26, 2025, at the University Board Room, Administration Building.
The workshop was attended by faculty members in charge of laboratories, laboratory technicians, and representatives from units identified as hazardous waste generators.
Ms. Rosanna S. Generato, Chief Administrative Officer for Administrative Services, emphasized the university’s responsibility to uphold workplace safety and environmental stewardship. She expressed hope that by the end of the year, the university would secure a third-party service provider for hazardous waste disposal.
Engr. Jason A. Un, Pollution Control Officer, led discussions on revised procedures, standards, and documentary requirements for hazardous waste management.
Participants engaged in hands-on activities, including hazardous waste profiling, contingency planning, and best practices in waste management.
The session also provided insights into the proposed University-Wide Hazardous Waste Management Plan, reinforcing BukSU’s commitment to strengthening environmental monitoring and reporting systems. (Lovely May Ejem, CAO Staff)
