
The Secondary Laboratory School (SLS) of Bukidnon State University (BukSU) inaugurated its new building on August 7, 2024 at the Casisang Annex A campus, to officially welcome the academic year 2024-2025.
The inauguration commenced with a celebration of cultural and religious traditions. The event featured the Pamuhat Tradition, including the Panahud, Pangampo, and Panalabugta rituals, led by Datu Yolieto Desalan and Datu Rogelio Marte, along with Barangay Casisang Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Bae Yolanda Sulatan Quirong. Reverend Father Leonardo Adaptar presided over the Holy Mass at the new SLS Gymnasium and conducted a blessing ceremony throughout the four-story building.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in front of the SLS building highlighted the event, marking the official opening of the new SLS campus.
“I envision this campus as a hub of innovation, where young minds will be challenged, inspired, and empowered… and I say this, especially to our SLS faculty, a place where [the pursuit of] knowledge is not just an academic pursuit, but a personal learning journey. To our students, embrace this chapter with open hearts and curious minds as always. You are the architects of your future, and this campus is your canvas,” said University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol during her inaugural speech.

Several BukSU officials and SLS partners were also present during the ceremony, including Vice President for Academic Affairs Hazel Jean M. Abejuela; Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso; Vice President for Culture, Arts, Sports, and Student Services Dr. Lincoln V. Tan; Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Dante S. Victoria, Jr.; Chief Administrative Officer for Administrative Services Ms. Rosanna S. Generato; Supervising Administrative Officer for Administrative Services Dr. Rea Rita R. Muegue; University Registrar Mr. Brian Thomas D. Taga; Alumni President Atty. Francesco Manuel V. Valdez; Dean of the College of Nursing Dr. Ma. Algerica T. Cuenco; Dean of the College of Education Dr. Ann Sheila C. Del Rosario; GPTA President Ms. Mary Joy L. Pizaña; and GPTA Vice President Ms. Hazel Ann G. Ramirez.

Honored guests and community partners also witnessed the ceremony, including 4DTS Commandant LTC Manuel B Estanilla MI (GSC), 1LT Camille M Bumatay (OS) PA, and Police Captain Joseph Galupo.
Malaybalay City Mayor Hon. Jay Warren R. Pabillaran graced the event and toured the new SLS building, led by University Officials and SLS Department Head Ms. Desiree A. Barroso.
