Bukidnon State University is located in the capital town of Malaybalay City. It has a land area of 6.02 hectares. Its mission is to develop competitive professional who are committed to build a sustainable life for all through quality instruction, research, extension and production. Its operations started in 1924 and was known as the Bukidnon Provincial High School and later renamed to Bukidnon Normal School under the administration of Mr. Pacifico A. Ramos. In 1972, it was again renamed to Bukidnon Normal College. Dr. Jaime M. Gellor succeeded Mr. Ramos in 1976 and converted Bukidnon Normal College to Bukidnon State College through PD 944. In 1994, Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon was appointed as the second president of the College. Dr. Victor M. Barroso started serving BSC in 1999 as the third College president and fulfills its vision to convert BSC into a University. Its University status was obtained through RA 9456 and inaugurates Dr. Victor M. Barroso as the 1st University President of Bukidnon State University.
