The International Affairs and Linkages Unit of Bukidnon State University (BukSU-IALU) in coordination with Balay Mindanaw and the British Embassy shared an opportunity for the BukSU students and faculty members to be oriented about the Chevening Scholarship Program through an Info-Session at the University Mini-Theater on October 20, 2023.
Atty. Abdul-Jalil Umngan, Chevening alumnus and the Director of Forest Management Services in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, began the info-session by providing the audience a knowledge on the eligibility criteria of the said scholarship along with the scholarship program coverage and the application timeline. He capped his presentation through his journey as a scholar.
With an audience of faculty members, non-teaching personnel and undergraduate students, the session proceeded to an open forum to respond questions clouding from the crowd.
The British Embassy and Balay Mindanaw’s Partnership “Chevening Scholarship Program” has four four-fold objectives: (a) facilitate and provide safe space conduct the series of info-session, (b) introduce the Chevening Scholarship Program and make it more accessible for everyone, (c) bridging the Mindanawons to more international opportunities, and (d) pursue the Mission to empower more individuals who demonstrate leadership potentials, especially from isolated and less advantageous areas.
