Dr. William Spady, the Father of Transformative Outcomes-Based Education (TOBE), sparked the BukSU faculty’s TOBE perspective through a webinar-workshop on Sept. 20, 2023.
The university’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) of the Office of the Vice President for the Academic Affairs (OVPAA) spearheaded the said workshop.
This session is a high-impact online event specifically tailored for BUKSU by one of the leading experts and innovators in the field of transformational outcomes-based education. It is intended to be an engaging and interactive virtual meeting to provide ample time for the faculty to ask relevant questions to the educational theorist known for his contributions to outcomes-based education (OBE).
Today’s session is a prelude to a TOBE series, marking the launching of a new HyFlex micro-learning teaching series designed for quick consumption and easy integration into the faculty’s busy schedules.
It is one of the multi-part express learning series titled “The TOBE Effect: Transformative Teaching Series.” As the name suggests, it is made up of short, and focused learning sessions aimed at speedy skills acquisition and knowledge sharing for rapid adaptation and skill development in an evolving workplace like BUKSU. It is expected that participants from this session gain a thorough understanding of the process of designing and implementing models of education based on student outcomes. The teachers are projected to acquire new skills in curriculum design which is hoped to ignite the spark for transformation that will initiate changes in the teaching practices.
