MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) Bukidnon State University librarians joined a webinar on digital transformation earlier this year.
Ms. Chandrani Yves E. Estrada, BukSU Supervisor of Libraries, led the four-member delegation with Ms. Florence Veneranda O. Gutierrez, Ms. Eileen Andrea Mae E. Lectaoa, and Ms. Evelyn O. Yagong.
The webinar focused on the theme: “Accelerating Digital Transformation in Libraries”, which was organized by the Philippine Librarians Association Inc. – Northern Mindanao Region Librarians Council (PLAI-NMRLC) and Academic Libraries Information Network in Mindanao (ALINET) in partnership with Regalo Touching Lives.
With the emergence of technology, librarians need to be updated with the latest trends in the library and information technology and joining webinars for continuing professional development.
The speakers’ discussions have directed the librarians to embrace more on the digital transformation with its standards and copyright laws on library materials.
Gutierrez, Lectaoa and Yagong actively participated in the workshop on “Draw and Share: Library Digitization Journey” which they have posted publicly in their respective Facebook accounts. The association also gave Plaque of Leadership Awards to Estrada and other outgoing officials. Estrada served as PLAI President in Region X (2019-2021). (Eileen Andrea Mae E.
