
Bukidnon State University (BukSU) placed in the Top 100 of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, climbing 61 spots from its 161st ranking in 2025 to 100th place this year among 500 ranked universities worldwide.
The 2026 result continued BukSU’s rise in the WURI rankings after placing 268th in 2024 and 161st in 2025.
WURI evaluates universities based on their contributions to industry and society through innovation in education, research and community engagement. The ranking system covers 24 categories that assess innovation targets and institutional practices.
BukSU recorded rankings across multiple (17) categories in the 2026 assessment:

• 17th in Industrial Application
• 29th in Interdisciplinary, Convergent and Integrated Research
• 34th in University Brand and Reputation
• 38th in Representative Research Project
• 47th in AI-Based Teaching and Learning Transformation
• 51st in Cost-Effectiveness Management
• 53rd in Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness
• 55th in Crisis Management
• 59th in Infrastructure and Technology
• 63rd in Empowerment-Based Management
• 75th in Social Impact through Knowledge Transfer
• 80th in Culture and Values
• 82nd in Funding for Sustainability
• 90th in Digital and AI Transformation in Strategy and Management
• 91st in Visionary Leadership
• 97th in Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem


“Our sustained rise in the WURI belongs to the entire BukSU family whose shared dedications continues to drive innovation, excellence, and the vision of a Smart BukSU,” said Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, BukSU President.
According to WURI, the ranking system examines universities’ real-world impact on industry and society, including innovation, entrepreneurship, ethics and collaboration among participating institutions.
