BukSU College of Education clinches Top 6 spot at the 1st National Edukalidad Competitions

After a series of competitions among 26 institutions, Bukidnon State University (BukSU) College of Education was declared as Top 6 at the 1st National Edukalidad Competitions, held on March 28, 2026, in Iloilo City.

“Launched in 2025 as a regional professional education challenge, Edukalidad has evolved into a national event showcasing the skills, creativity, and excellence of future educators while fostering collaboration and innovation among participating institutions,” Western Visayas State University-College of Education (WVSU-COE), the host institution, posted on their Facebook page.

With the theme “Future-Shaping the Next-Generation Learners for a Globally Competitive Nation,” the event enabled future educators to address the evolving demands of global education.

The competition featured four main events: Research Presentation, Teaching Demonstration, Professional Education Quiz Bee, and Instructional Materials Design.

Mr. Angelo O. Pasos, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Education major in Mathematics student, won First-Place in the Research Competition for Cluster 2, with the team research titled, Academic Journey of Mathematics Students Under Affirmative Action Program: A Narrative Inquiry. He represented on behalf with Ms. Ivy Grace D. Berdesola and Mr. Orland D. Longos, his fellow BSE Mathematics majors.

“The study demonstrates a rigorous engagement with narrative inquiry as a methodological lens, offering critical insights into the lived academic experiences of mathematics students within an affirmative action framework,” Pasos said.

Ms. Xaira Marie C. Lamigo, an Early Childhood Education (ECEd) student, secured 6th Place in Cluster 1 Teaching Demonstration after being evaluated in her teaching strategy and pedagogical process, content mastery, and effective utilization of instructional materials.

In the Professional Education Quiz Bee, students Ms. Jenaily Encarnacion, a Bachelor of Education major in Elementary Education (BEEd), Ms. Antoneth Jane P. Tan, a Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), and Ms. Mallory Marie Antipala, a Bachelor of Science Education major in Social Studies (BSEd SocStud) placed 11th.
