






Two faculty members from the Information Technology Department of Bukidnon State University participated in the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) National Convention 2026, held on March 26–28, 2026, at The Marison Hotel in Legazpi City, Albay.
Louie Jay S. Labastida and Mark Ian Mukara represented the university at the three-day event, which gathered IT educators, academic leaders, and industry representatives from across the country.
The convention carried the theme “PSITE 2.0: Augmenting Education, Connecting Community, and Thriving with AI,” with discussions centered on artificial intelligence (AI) in education, technology development, research, and collaboration between academic institutions and industry.
Sessions covered topics such as AI policy in Southeast Asian education, cloud-based machine learning deployment, preparation of IT professionals for an AI-driven economy, applications of AI in academic settings, and the Commission on Higher Education’s roadmap for AI integration in IT programs.
