Bukidnon State University (BukSU) and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) held an exploratory meeting on March 5, 2026 to discuss a potential partnership aimed at strengthening volunteerism initiatives in higher education.
The meeting was attended by PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe, BukSU President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, BukSU Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Rosanna S. Generato, and ESCEU Director Dr. Jiemalyn B. Paulican.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of promoting volunteerism as a key strategy for advancing community engagement and social responsibility among students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The discussion highlighted the need to mainstream volunteerism across the University’s core functions, particularly instruction, research, and extension.
President Mirasol expressed the University’s positive response to the proposed collaboration and reaffirmed BukSU’s commitment to supporting volunteerism as part of its broader community engagement agenda.
