Bukidnon State University (BukSU) introduced its new website, creating an improved performance as a digital gateway for students, partners, and the public, held on February 19, 2026, during the President’s Day 2026 and BukSU Brand Launching.
The redesign focused on two major goals: making the university’s complex information easy to find and ensuring the platform can grow without needing a total rebuild in the future.
“We are constantly future-proofing the implementation of certain functionalities so that as the university grows, the site can be easily managed and scaled by future administrators without needing a total rebuild. For users, this means that the site stays updated, secure, and performant for years to come,” John Dale S. Belderol, Information Officer II and the BukSU website administrator, said.
The project’s primary success was the unification of brand and performance. Whether a user is visiting a specific college page or the main homepage, the experience remains consistent and fast.
“What stands out the most is the unification of brand and performance. We didn’t just give it a ‘coat of paint’; we aligned the user interface with the university’s core identity,” he added. “Our viewers will navigate every section, page, and subsite and still feel like these are part of the broader BukSU brand.”
One of the team’s biggest hurdles was taking the institutional complexity of a massive university and condensing it into a user-friendly format.
“The biggest challenge is, without a doubt, the sheer scale and institutional complexity of the university. We weren’t just building a website; we were mapping an entire ecosystem. We had to distill years of knowledge into something usable and useful, and guarantee that it would fit a page which can be scrolled in mere seconds.”
The new BukSU site is built to be inclusive, featuring high color contrast for visual clarity and technical “screen-reader” support for users with disabilities. It is also optimized for older mobile devices, ensuring that users with slower internet or older hardware aren’t left behind.
“We’re constantly striving to follow established web accessibility guidelines… We’re also looking into adding accessibility switchers to allow users to manually increase font size, toggle ‘dyslexia-friendly’ fonts, or force a high-contrast mode instantly.” (Menard L.
