To chart the university’s strategic course for 2026, Bukidnon State University’s (BukSU) Planning and Development Unit (PDU) led a three-day Operational Planning Workshop at Pinegrove Mountain Lodge, Dahilayan, on February 2-4, 2026.
The top management, deans, and unit heads translated the University’s strategic goals, mandates, and development plans into concrete, time-bound, and measurable operational plans that will guide implementation across colleges, offices, and units.
“Participants aligned the unit targets with strategic priorities that strengthen teaching excellence, research productivity, extension relevance, and student support systems, ensuring that plans respond to evolving educational needs while remaining accountable and results-driven,” PDU Head Dr. Helen P. Garcia said.
Anchored on BukSU’s vision and mission, the workshop emphasized SDG 4: Quality Education, placing inclusive, innovative, and learner-centered education at the center of institutional planning.
The university is striving to build a better BukSU. This involves reducing waste, staying ready for unexpected challenges, and keeping the community informed about leadership decisions.
“Beyond academic outcomes, action plans also embedded commitments to creating safe and supportive environments, promoting equitable participation, fostering professional growth, driving innovation, facilitating digital transformation, and ensuring inclusive access,” she added.
Participants were encouraged to recognize that while systems, plans, and structures are essential, it is the health, well-being, and dedication of faculty, staff, and administrators that sustain institutional excellence.
“Nurturing a supportive and healthy work environment remains integral to achieving its goals, ensuring that progress in education is matched by care for the people who make it possible,” Garcia emphasized. (Phillip Loyd M. Balosa/ PDU Technical Writer)
