
The Bukidnon State University College of Medicine (BukSU COM) held a meeting with the local government of Malaybalay, through Hon. Zoltan Dindo D. Dinlayan, City Councilor and Chairperson of the Committee on Education, to discuss the LGU Malaybalay Medical Scholarship, held on January 13, 2026, at the College of Medicine Building.
According to the College, the meeting aimed to strengthen access to medical education and support future physicians in the city.
“The meeting focused on aligning the objectives of the scholarship program with the College of Medicine’s mission of producing competent, community-oriented physicians who will serve the health needs of Malaybalay City and neighboring communities.”
Discussions included scholarship support mechanisms, student eligibility and retention, and the long-term sustainability of the program in addressing local health workforce needs.
Hon. Dinlayan emphasized the importance of investing in medical education as a strategic response to improving local health services, particularly by ensuring that scholars are equipped and encouraged to return and serve their communities after graduation.
