Bukidnon State University (BukSU) is ranked 241st among public higher education institutions in Asia, 14th in the Philippines, and second among public universities in Northern Mindanao in the AppliedHE Public University Ranking: All Asia 2026.
This year’s AppliedHE ranking expands its geographic scope. Earlier editions focused only on institutions in the ASEAN region, while the current methodology includes public universities across Asia based on the country list recognized by the International Labour Organisation.
“Our debut in the AppliedHE Public University Ranking reflects the momentum of our Smart BukSU Agenda and our strengthened commitment to internationalization that elevates our global presence and academic quality,” said BukSU President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol.
Rankings are determined through a hybrid participation model using institutional data, student and peer surveys, and bibliometric metrics from Google Scholar and Google News, along with searchable indicators of web presence. Graduate outcomes are also factored into the calculation.
The AppliedHE methodology assesses public universities according to teaching and learning, employability, research, community engagement, internationalization, and institutional reputation.
AppliedHE is a Singapore-based organization that provides evaluation tools, rankings, and engagement platforms for higher education stakeholders internationally. (BukSU – Information Unit)
