Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Information Technology students applied their skills during the Hack4Gov competition held on November 10, 2025, at Chali Beach Resort.
Hack4Gov challenged students to solve real-world problems using technology, testing their technical skills, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Representing Bukidnon as the only school from the province, BukSU competed against schools across Region 10.
BukSU fielded two teams in the event. Packet Hunters, composed of Aubie Brynne Hallazgo, James Cyrel Culibar, Noel Raterta Jr., and Jim Joshua Boquil, delivered a strong performance, earning 1st runner-up. Flag Hunters, consisting of James Rio Abquita, Nilo Garciano, and Keith Einlou Pogoy, placed 10th, gaining experience for future competitions.
Aubie Brynne Hallazgo stood out by earning a spot as a wildcard, awarded to the student with the highest points among all contestants. This recognition allowed him to advance to the national-level competition, representing both BukSU and Region 10.
The teams were coached by the IT Faculty, Mr. Joseph Abella and Mr. Raul Lecaros.
According to the IT Department BukSU’s success in the competition reflected the university’s dedication to producing skilled IT professionals capable of competing at regional and national levels.
“With Aubie Brynne Hallazgo advancing to the national competition, the BukSU community looks forward to more achievements and continued success in future events.” (Raul D. Lecaros, IT Faculty member)
