Bukidnon State University President Dr. Joy Mirasol attended the Launch and Ceremonial Commitment Signing between the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) and the Presidents and Heads of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) on October 27, 2025, at the Grand Ballroom, Manila Prince Hotel, San Marcelino Street, Ermita, Manila. She was joined by Executive Assistant Ms. Juliecriz B. Mallari.

The activity forms part of the collaboration between the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Government Procurement and Policy Board-Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), under the Whole-of-Nation Approach and the National NGPA Caravan. This partnership underscores the shared commitment of SUCs and the GPPB to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government procurement processes.

The launch marked the first leg of The New Government Procurement Act (NGPA): Deepening Understanding and Strengthening Implementation in SUCs, a national seminar series aimed at enhancing the capacity of SUCs in navigating and implementing the NGPA. The first leg convened participants and stakeholders from Luzon SUCs for a series of discussions, training sessions, and policy exchanges.

Dr. Mirasol emphasized the importance of this initiative in reinforcing ethical and efficient procurement practices in higher education institutions. “Upholding integrity and accountability in procurement reflects our responsibility as stewards of public resources and our commitment to good governance,” she said.

Through this initiative, PASUC and GPPB-TSO aim to foster a more robust understanding of procurement reforms across the SUC sector, ensuring compliance with the evolving legal framework and promoting good governance practices in public higher education institutions.
