CHED X honors BukSU at ASEAN Celebration, Regional Quality Awards 2025

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) once again affirmed its commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and service as it garnered multiple recognitions during the ASEAN Celebration and Regional Quality Awards 2025 held on August 19, 2025, at the Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City hosted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X.

The awards ceremony, organized under the theme “ASEAN 2025: Inclusivity and Sustainability | ASEAN Month: Sama-sama sa Pag-unlad,” honored Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that elevated the rank of Region X in academic performance, compliance, and quality assurance.

ACE Award for Accurate, Consistent, and Efficient Reporting

The ACE Award, symbolizing Accuracy, Consistency, and Efficiency, was presented to HEIs with exceptional commitment to compliance in reporting and documentation to CHED.

BukSU’s campuses were recognized in distinguished categories that reflect a culture of excellence, discipline, and efficiency:

• HEMIS Category: Demonstrating excellence in submitting Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS) reports with precision and timeliness for data-driven policy making.

•Rank 2: BukSU Kalilangan, represented by Dr. Richard Suadrio, and BukSU Medina, represented by Dr. Maria Leonie A. Mabanta, with Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, University President.

• Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Unit: Cited for timely and accurate reporting, exemplifying dedication to the overall well-being of students.

• Special Commendation: BukSU

RANK 1: StuFAPS Reports (Student Financial Assistance Programs)

BukSU was recognized for delivering services with no delays and serving the highest number of grantees.

Association Awards

BukSU faculty and personnel also brought pride through professional organizations

• NSTP Educators Near 10: Mr. Albert Celebran, BukSU NSTP Coordinator, was recognized for his active role.

• Council of Student Affairs and Services Practitioners in Region X: Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan III, BukSU SLEDEVU Head, was acknowledged for his contributions.

Top Performing HEIs in Licensure Examinations

BukSU was ranked among the Top Performing HEIs with the greatest number of licensure exam topnotchers in Region X—affirming the university’s commitment to quality training and academic guidance.

RANK 3: BukSU was recognized for producing significant numbers of PRC board exam topnotchers

• Special Commendation (Top 9, Nursing Licensure Exam): BukSU

EQUATE Awards

BukSU also received recognition under the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) awards, further underscoring its role in producing competent educators through strong academic standards.

International Rankings Recognition

BukSU’s global standing was also highlighted with the awarding of internationally ranked HEIs, acknowledging the university’s placement in the WURI (World’s Universities with Real Impact Rankings) and THE (Times Higher Education) Impact Rankings.

Affirmation Speech

BukSu President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, who was crowning the day’s highlights, was invited by CHED Region X to deliver an affirmation speech alongside MSU-IIT Chancellor Atty. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, underscoring the collective achievements of Region X’s HEIs and their role in pushing for inclusive and sustainable education aligned with ASEAN 2025 goals.
