The announcement was made during Day 2 of the 5th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference, at Silliman University in Dumaguete City. The international gathering brought together academic leaders and innovators to celebrate forward-thinking approaches to education and institutional transformation.
For its second year of participation, BukSU achieved significant placements in three key innovation categories:
• A1: Student Support and Engagement – Rank 43
• B6: Technology/Infrastructure – Rank 22
• B7: Cost Effectiveness/Benefit Management – Rank 16
These results reflect BukSU’s firm commitment to delivering inclusive, technology-driven, and resource-efficient education that addresses real-world needs. From last year’s overall rank of 266, the university has soared to 161, reinforcing its reputation as a dynamic and responsive institution.
The WURI Rankings focus not on traditional academic metrics, but on universities’ practical contributions to society, innovation in teaching and learning, and creative institutional strategies. Through programs under the Smart BukSU Helix, strategic digitalization, student-centered services, and cost-effective management systems, BukSU continues to redefine the role of public universities in the 21st century.
