School heads from the Department of Education (DepEd) Malaybalay City Division attended a workshop on advanced supervisory and leadership skills, organized by the College of Education (COE) of Bukidnon State University, on October 30, 2024, at the Annex Campus.
The workshop, titled “Essentials, Goals, Approaches, and Phases of Instructional Supervision,” aimed to enhance participants’ competencies in educational leadership. It focused on effective supervision practices, tools, and strategies designed to drive high-impact leadership in schools.
A total of 66 school administrators attended the event, engaging in discussions about the principles, goals, and approaches that underpin successful instructional supervision.
The workshop is part of the COE’s “PowerEd: Upskilling School Heads’ Competencies for Exemplary Educational Leadership,” an extension project under its Continuing Professional Development Services.
Dr. Albert A. Villanca, Director of BukSU Satellite Campuses, and Dr. Lorenzo O. Capacio, School Governance and Operations Division Chief of DepEd Malaybalay City, served as resource speakers.
Faculty extensionists and graduate students from BukSU’s PhD and MA programs in Educational Administration also contributed to the workshop.
The workshop builds on an earlier PowerEd session, “Data-Driven and Constructively Aligned Assessment,” which addressed evidence-based assessment practices. The series continued on November 20, focusing on challenges, best practices, and the role of technology in instructional supervision, further enhancing the leadership capacities of school heads.
