“UMY will conduct faculty mobility (to BukSU) through Visiting Professor Program, Sabbatical Leave Program for maximum of two weeks via online, and joint community service.  We are looking forward from BukSU to come to UMY and enjoy the cultural heritage of Yogyakarta.”

These were only some of the commitment and invitation of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) through Dr. Erna Rochmawati, head of the Masters of Nursing program, to Bukidnon State University (BukSU) during the MOA signing held on December 4, 2023 at the University Mini-Theater attended by students and the top management.

BukSU signified through the agreement from its confidence of the transformative power of international collaboration, as stated during the commitment speech of VPAF Dante S. Victoria, Jr. representing the University President, Dr. Joy M. Mirasol.

“It reflects the university’s commitment in the creation of diverse, inclusive and globally-minded educational environment that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the interrelated world.” VPAF Victoria, Jr. said.

The MOA promised to enhance academic excellence, foster cultural understanding, and strengthen the bonds of friendship between BukSU and UMY.

“By joining forces, we aim to create a platform for cross-cultural collaboration where students, faculty, researchers can engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas, experiences, and expertise. She also said that the collaboration also open doors for joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges and other projects that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and address shared challenges. The linkage can make significant impact on the educational landscape and contribute to the betterment of society.
