The Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Infocamp 2023 initiated by the BukSU-Information Unit and in collaboration with Extension Unit recalibrated the radio and online programming skills of the identified program hosts and university extensionists, with guest speaker Ms. Donna G. Ocampo, ABS-CBN’s gem proficient in multi-media management, production, and marketing, held on November 28-29 at the University Gymnasium and via online meeting platform.
The hybrid Infocamp provided insightful sessions on (a) understanding the nature and characteristics of radio/online program production, (b) designing programs for radio/online platforms, (c) tips on hosting/anchoring and interviewing skills, (d) engaging the audience, and (e) overcoming stage fright and nervousness.

Participants were introduced to the importance of radio and online program production, acquiring an understanding of the nature and key features of these platforms.
A focused session also guided attendees on crafting broadcast programs tailored for radio and online platforms, emphasizing general content structure and audience engagement strategies. During the session, participants devoted time to craft their own program having the program title and logo, objectives, schedule of broadcast, program clocking and sample script to introduce their program.
Ms. Ocampo shared with the attendees the various methods to engage and connect with program audience, fostering active participation and interaction. She cited samples of livestreamed broadcast programs and gave impressions how programmers should engage and connect to the listeners and viewers.
Guest speaker also addressed stage fright and nervousness, providing techniques empowering participants to present confidently.
Ms. Ocampo also gave suggestions for improvement to the select main-stay programs of BukSU’s radio station 104.5 FM.
The two-day Infocamp concluded with impressions from participants.
“I really so like the sessions. The way she (Ms. Ocampo) handles points for improvement is so professional. Hoping for a face-to-face season 2 on this. Congrats, organizers and teammates! God bless.” Dr. Lorenzo Dinlayan III, Director for Student Leadership and Development Unit, and Share to Heal’s radio program host posted.
Atty. Ophelia Pilar Zamora, faculty member of the College of Law, and Share to Heal’s radio program host, said she has learned an important lesson especially on the role of a program host being the protector of the message from source to the audience.
Kaglambaga program host Ms. Loreta Sol Dinlayan expressed her gratitude to guest speaker for being an inspiration to continuously improve its programming for indigenous communities, and hoped for another engaging sessions. (BukSU-Information Unit)
