MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University (BukSU) celebrated excellence in community engagement during the recent BULIG Awards ceremony held on October 11, 2023 at the University Mini Theatre as part of the extension week celebration.
BULIG Awards recognized the exceptional contributions of both faculty and students who have actively participated in the university’s Extension Agenda, known as BULIG (Bukidnon State University Unified Leverage for Inclusive Growth).
The ‘Best Faculty Extensionist’ award acknowledged the dedication of faculty members to community engagement, emphasizing their vital role in fostering sustainable development in alignment with the university’s mission.
‘Best Extension Project’ award celebrated projects that have brought profound and lasting change to local communities, all led by dedicated faculty members committed to the university’s mission.
Additionally, the ‘Best Showcased Extension and Community Engagement Initiatives’ award recognized outstanding initiatives from various university colleges and departments, all presented through compelling video presentations. These initiatives were marked by their alignment with the theme, “Bridging Boundaries, Fostering Sustainable Futures.”
The ‘Best Showcased Student Outreach Activities’ award recognized the invaluable contributions of student organizations to community development. These initiatives, captured in 2 to 3-minute videos, demonstrated a profound dedication to fostering positive change and making a significant and lasting impact on local communities.
Awards for ‘Excellence in Extension and Community Engagement’ and “Visionary Leadership in Community Engagement Award” were also awarded to worthy recipients.
Dr. Jiemalyn B. Paulican, Extension Unit Director extended her heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees and winners for their commitment to providing assistance and support through the principles of extension and community engagement.
“Together, we continue to extend help (BULIG), bridge boundaries, and build better and more sustainable future for our beloved partner communities,” she added.
