SMART Education: BukSU 2023 Graduates first batch to receive diploma, TOR upon graduation

MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University immediately released diplomas and Official Transcript of Records to the 2023 Graduates during their Graduation Ceremonies.

The immediate issuance was part of University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol’s brand of SMART Education, which is geared towards producing employable graduates who meet the needs of work and life in the 21st century.

When the graduate’s name is called to the stage, university officials’ hand in a Blue Folder to the graduate enclosed with original copies of the Diploma and the TOR. The graduates receive.

During the Presidential Candidates’ Public Forum, Dr. Mirasol vowed to release the Diploma and Transcript of records upon graduation to reduce waiting time for employment.

“It would be a hallmark of BukSU’s efficient processes and a strong manifestation of the administration’s desire to support the employment of the graduates,” she said.

Dr. Mirasol’s vision was made possible through the efforts of the Office of the Registrar headed by Mr. Bryan Thomas D. Taga.

A total of 2,293 students have graduated from the 7 colleges in the main campus from May 22, 2023 to June 23, 2023.

There were a total of 117 graduates from the main campus and 20 graduates from the satellite campuses who finished with Latin honors. The awardees were automatically eligible for Civil Service according to Republic Act 1080 or the Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 907.

Ms. Odessa Celeste Mae Casas, College of Education, who graduated cum laude, said that it was a great honor and privilege for being part of the first batch to receive the diploma and Transcript of Records (TOR) at the same time on their graduation day.

“It’s not just us who are completely satisfied with the change but also our parents and guardians who helped us make this journey possible. I am forever grateful to BukSU for providing us with a great experience and instilling in us the values of excellence, professionalism, integrity, commitment, and cultural sensitivity which were the SMART ideals of our dear university,” she told the Information Unit in a message.

She also extended her appreciation to the SMART BukSU President, Dr. Joy M. Mirasol for making this happen and to all of the people who made this endeavor possible.

“Receiving such document is a moment of immense pride and joy which we can use as a reflection on the challenges we overcome, the lessons we learned, and the friendships we formed in our academic journey,” she said.

Moreover, she mentioned that the system symbolized that BukSU was consistent with its commitment about giving quality service and was open to changes for the good of its students who were about to take off the walls of the university.

She said the immediate issuance of the diploma and TORs were the best gift she received this year.

Graduates from the satellite campuses have also received their diplomas and TORs on the day of their graduation.
